Ace’s book of poems, Our Weather Our Sea, was named a finalist for a 2020 Lambda Literary Award in Transgender Poetry.

Was a Visiting Writer at Massachusetts College of the Liberal Arts for a reading and class visit (March 8, 2022), and he was also a Visiting Writer at Columbia College Chicago, where he gave a reading (March 9, 2022). Both visits were virtual. On March 24, 2022, he appeared virtually at the Associated Writers Conference in Philadelphia, where he presented on the panel “Dear You, Love Me: Queer(ing) as/and Epistolary Form”.

Presented on two panels at the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Conference in San Antonio: “Pushing Boundary: Trans and Genderqueer Poets Beyond the Page” and "New and Collected: A Trans/Non-Binary Reading." Samuel was also appointed to be the guest faculty in poetry at the Lambda Literary Emerging Writers Retreat in Los Angeles, CA. (March, 2020)

Has been selected as the speaker for this year’s Daffodil Lecture on Sustainability and the Environment for the Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her talk, “Seeking the Justice in Environmental and Sustainability Work” will premiere March 15, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.

Was one of five panelists who spoke on Food Justice and Community Gardening in September hosted by the Women of Color Leadership Network at UMass Amherst in collaboration with the Pioneer Valley Worker’s Center. 

Just completed her two-year position as Chair of the North American Association for Environmental Education’s (NAAEE) Research Symposium, convening the first virtual symposium from October 8-10 in the organization’s history.
